About the event
Rostan trail is a unique and epic resource! The trail winds through Camp Grier's private land provides access from Coper ridge trail (also lower heartbreak) to Jarret Creek road and the rest of the trails. Rostan has been built by many builders and machine operators over several years. Each section of Rostan feels different than the one before, and that's one of the best parts about it! There is however, one very unsustainable section next to a creek which was built years ago that is ready to be fixed! Join Mike and the crew to help brush out the corridor to make way for the new trail alignment. We'll use loppers, rakes of all kinds, handsaws, and our certified sawyers using the occasional chanisaw.
Difficulty rating: 3/5: .5 hike each direction on fresh, uneven ground, use of cutting tools and rakes
Be sure to bring your favorite gear, plenty of snacks and water, high tops (boots preferred), eye protection, long pants, leather gloves and whatever else you need to stay comfortable for a great 4+ hour day in the mountains
