About the event
Hickory Branch Trail is a camper's favorite trail. With its pretty coves, cool creek and beautiful waterfall this trail has something for just about everyone! The trail has one major issue that we're going to take care of right now, and It's the entrance! The entrance includes a semi decomissioned "fall line trail" that pours straight out into one of the campsites in the campground. The entrance location is in one of the campsites which can be confusing for hikers when tents unknowingly block the entrance, and startles campers who aren't expecting a runner or a bear on their doorstep at 5:30am!
Join the crew to help withthe relocation. We'll use hand tools to bench the trail into a newer more environmentally and socially sustainale alignment.
Difficulty rating: 2/5: minimal hike each direction, fresh, uneven ground, use of cutting tools, digging tools and rakes
Be sure to bring your favorite gear, plenty of snacks and water, best joke or story, high tops (boots preferred), eye protection, long pants, leather gloves and whatever else you need to stay comfortable for a great 4+ hour day in the mountains
