Start your weekend with a scenic hike and litter pickup at one of our most popular sites in the Forest. We’ll hike out and back on the river trail to the lower and upper falls while picking up litter along the way.

About the event
Come check out the newly opened observation platform at the upper falls that has recently been rebuilt along with numerous trail improvements since Helene. G5 Trail Collective currently works in partnership with the Grandfather District of Pisgah on Hurricane Helene recovery projects across the Forest. This area suffered severe damage and we are grateful to have it back open.
This area sees high levels of frontcountry users and your help will greatly improve forest health and the visitor experience.
Hike Roundtrip Miles: 3 miles out and back. Vertical gain 850 ft. We will be hiking the Catawba Falls River Trail to the lower and upper falls. (Note: after lower falls the grade is steep and requires climbing 580 steps to the upper falls area)
